Gardens can impact our mental health as well as our brains and bodies. Dr. Siegle will discuss how time spent outdoors amidst plants and water features, the visual organization of gardens and plants affect our well-being, and eating garden plants and products are used in healing, cultural, and religious contexts.
This program is presented in collaboration with The Healing Garden exhibit which showcases plants mentioned in Abrahamic religious texts, the Torah (the Hebrew Bible or the first five books), the Quran (Koran), and the New Testament and how they can heal us physically, emotionally, and spiritually.
