Dr. Kathleen Blee presents: Organized Antisemitic Hate – How it Operates and How it can be Stopped
Kathleen Blee is a faculty member in sociology at the University of Pittsburgh and Co-Director of the Collaboratory Against Hate. She is an expert in organized and violent antisemitism and has served as a consultant to Congress, law enforcement, presidential commissions, and many communities and synagogues. She was an expert witness in the trial against the white supremacists who organized the antisemitic, racist march in Charlottesville. She is also a long-time member of Congregation Dor Hadash.
Dr. Rachel Kranson presents: How Racism and Antisemitism Amplify One Another
Rachel Kranson is the Director of Jewish Studies and an Associate Professor of Religious Studies at the University of Pittsburgh. She was the co-editor of A Jewish Feminine Mystique: Jewish Women in Postwar America, a finalist for a 2010 National Jewish Book Award, and the author of Ambivalent Embrace: Jewish Upward Mobility in Postwar America, finalist for the best first book award from the Immigration and Ethnic History Society in 2017. Her current book manuscript, entitled Religious Misconceptions, focuses on American Jewish interventions in the politics of abortion.
