Community Meetup is designed as a welcoming place to gather outside of home and work — a space to connect with friends, meet new people, and build community. Monday nights will feature classes, games, and other activities, with shared meals and desserts bringing everyone together. Open to all!

We’re excited to launch the first major program of Beit Kulanu: Community Meetup, piloting on Monday evenings. Community Meetup is designed as a welcoming place to gather outside of home and work — a space to connect with friends, meet new people, and build community. Monday nights will feature classes, games, and other activities, with shared meals and desserts bringing everyone together. 6:15 PM: Dinner | Registration Required
Our optional casual dinner features a rotating buffet from some of our favorite local restaurants. Come hungry and enjoy a relaxed, communal meal before the night’s programs begin.

As we pilot this program, we require that attendees prepay for dinner will to help us plan accurately. Meals will rotate among local restaurants, and we’ll do our best to keep prices low. The cost is $20 per person, and advance registration is required by Wednesday of the week prior; you are welcome to register for multiple weeks at once. Each buffet will include options for a variety of dietary needs, including vegetarian, gluten-free, and dairy-free selections. Please indicate in the Notes section if you have any dietary needs.
7:00-7:50 PM: Chug A Options
Choose from a range of activities. Some meet weekly, some run for multiple weeks, some happen monthly, and others are one-time events. Many will be free; some may have a small fee paid to the instructor.
Hartman Learning Group with Rabbi Daniel Fellman | Weekly through May | $
Do you want to learn more about Israeli politics and culture, the relationship American Jews and Israelis share (or don’t)? Do you want to dig into a bit of biblical and rabbinic text? The Hartman Learning Group explores these issues, using the Shalom Hartman curriculum under the leadership of Rabbi Fellman. Sisterhood Mahjong Game | Meets Weekly | $
Join us for a delightful evening of mahjong every Monday! Whether you’re just starting out or have years of experience, you’re sure to enjoy the camaraderie and good times as you make new friends or cherish moments with longtime pals. All are welcome! Sponsored by Your Town Realty. Bring the most recent Mahjong card with you. You can purchase one at nationalmahjonggleague.org. There will be a $5 charge at the door each session, payable by cash or check (made out to Women of Temple Sinai). Winners will be awarded Giant Eagle gift cards. Want more Mahj? Art Journaling | Week 3 of 6
Unleash your creativity in a six-week Art Journaling Workshop—no experience needed! Whether you’re brand new to creative expression or simply looking for fresh inspiration, this hands-on session will guide you through playful techniques using color, texture, collage, and simple prompts. Join Deborah Freedman and discover that there is “no wrong way” to art journal, while you explore and create. Come as you are and leave with new tools, fresh ideas, and pages that tell your unique story.
All materials will be provided. However - If you want to bring some supplies, we suggest any of the following: Your favorite journal, blank book, sketchbook, composition notebook. Your favorite writing utensils (pens, pencils, markers, watercolors, etc.) Scissors, glue stick or other glue. Paper ephemera, pictures.
From Planning to Canning: Gardening on the Cheap | Weekly | $
Horticulturalist Rachel Kudrick's classes will orient students to gardening basics. Each class functions independently, so you can pick and choose the areas you relish. Rachel runs Beit Kulanu’s vegetable garden, where all of the produce gets donated to people in need. All classes are $18 unless otherwise noted and payable to the instructor. (Sliding scale and fee waiver available for those on fixed incomes.)
March 30: "Get Growing!" This class will teach you how to begin new plants from cuttings and seeds as well as several methods of "cloning!" (Cue evil laugh.) Learn more about Rachel's Gardening Classes.
Jewish Book Club | Monthly
Our Jewish Book Club brings readers together to explore powerful, thought-provoking titles selected by the Jewish Book Council. Through lively discussion and shared reflection, we’ll dive into contemporary Jewish voices, stories, and ideas that connect tradition, culture, and community. On March 30, we will discuss The Singer Sisters by Sarah Selzer. (There are copies available at the Carnegie Library and Temple Sinai library.) Description: Two generations of a folk-rock dynasty collide over art, love, longing, and family secrets in this captivating and poignant debut. Future books will be decided by the group.
Documentary screening of Theodore Bikel: In the Shoes of Sholom Aleichem | Register
Join us for this free screening followed by a reading of a short piece from Sholom Aleichem's work. Portraits of two beloved icons--Sholom Aleichem and Theodore Bikel--are woven together in this enchanting new documentary. The two men have much in common: wit, wisdom and talent, all shot through with deep humanity and Yiddishkeit.

Join us for this relaxed, welcoming gathering where you can bring your knitting, crochet, embroidery, or any handwork project and enjoy great company along with a favorite beverage.
