Dr. Sheila K. Collins is no stranger to grief. After the loss of two of her adult children, she felt disconnected from the support she needed, living in a society that makes us feel we can’t speak openly or honestly about significant losses. Her response, from the perspective of a dancer, social worker, and writer, resulted in her recent book, The Art of Grieving; How Art and Art-Making Help Us Grieve and Live Our Best Lives.
Sheila will challenge conventional attitudes and advocate for how grieving itself can become an art–one that we and our organizations can get good at, for the benefit of ourselves and the culture we live in.
This breakfast is sponsored by the Rodef Shalom Brotherhood and Women of Rodef Shalom.
