Rodef Shalom Chosen to Host NFTY-PAR’s Winter Social Action Conference: January 12-14, 2018

Isabel Segel, President, and Abby Adelman, Programming Vice President of NFTY-PAR (NFTY Pennsylvania Area Region), as well as the rest of our Rodef Shalom teen board will be welcoming over 100 teens from across Pennsylvania, Southern New Jersey, Delaware, and parts of West Virginia to this social justice themed weekend. WINSTY is NFTY-PAR’s only synagogue hosted event and each year a different synagogue is chosen to host. It has been almost a decade since the event was held in Pittsburgh.

As the host of this event, we will be looking for volunteers to help throughout the weekend at the event itself, as well as help to house the traveling teenagers. On the next page you can learn how to take the first steps towards helping as a volunteer.

Please feel free to contact Yael Eads at or 412-621-6566 ext. 130 at any time with any questions you may have about how you can help us make this event a success.

Want to help our teens make the NFTY-PAR Winter Conference a Success?

Here are 3 ways you can pitch in:

Mark off January 12-14, 2018 in your calendars. Our teens will be glad to have your time and support for this big weekend.
  2. HOST AN OUT-OF-TOWN TEEN (or two or three...)
Youth will be traveling to Pittsburgh from all over the region and will need Rodef Shalom homes to stay in. If you’re willing to open your home, please contact Yael Eads at or 412-621-6566 ext. 130. Note: Background clearances are required to host teens in your home.
TheRSTY (The Rodef Shalom Temple Youth) have been gaining momentum and deepening their engagement over the last several years, this conference reinforces what Rodef Shalom teens are capable of. It’s a big honor to be chosen as host community, let them know you’re proud.
